The history of the Valentino brand begins with Valentino Garavani , who began his career in fashion at a young age as an apprentice to local designers. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts and the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in Paris, he worked for Jean Dessès and Guy Laroche before opening his own fashion house in 1959 on Via Condotti in Rome.
